Faultline Friends and Family Concert
Come along and support the Chorus as they prepare for the 2012 National Sweet Adelines Competition! The Chorus will be performing on Saturday 21 April at the Lower Hutt Little Theatre, 5.00pm. Guests for the concert are Even Time (NZ National Champion Quartet) and Harbour Captial Chorus. Tickets $5 13yrs and over and $2 12yrs and under. Fun in Four PartsWelcome to the website for the fantastic Faultline Chorus! We are a national and international award winning women’s group who have an enormous amount of fun singing four part unaccompanied barbershop harmony. This incredibly rewarding yet challenging artform, grabs you from the first moment you enter a rehearsal room or see a chorus perform. As a member of the chorus you are provided with vocal training as a basis to singing the barbershop style, and then there is the addition of showmanship to help you grow as a performer. It’s all achieved through regular weekly rehearsals under the direction of the very talented Carolyn Currington and from time to time invited coaches from both New Zealand and overseas. Performance opportunities such as singing for community or corporate events and fundraising, as well as competing at the national Sweet Adelines annual competition, lead to each performer’s vocal and personal growth and the development of wonderful friendships both within the chorus and in the wider barbershop fraternity. The chorus welcomes visitors to rehearsals, come and see if this is the right singing group for you! 4th in the world!Faultline Chorus competed in October 2010 in Seattle, Washington at the Sweet Adelines International contest for small choruses and was placed 4th in the world! The chorus had a fabulous time singing before the contest at specially arranged concerts. The opportunity to sing before such enthusiastic audiences was a highlight of the trip. Contest was a truly thrilling and challenging experience and to win a 4th place medal was testament to the hard work and achievement of this little chorus from 'down under'. However, enjoying the company of almost ten thousand other Sweet Adelines from around the world was the icing on the cake! |
Come Sing With UsThe Faultline Chorus welcomes new members at any time. Come along and experience barbershop music from the inside. You are welcome to observe our rehearsal to see what it's all about. If you want to take it further, we can then have a member of music team assist in selecting the right 'part' (tenor, lead, baritone or bass) for your voice and from there you are given music and a CD to take home and practise. You join in the appropriate sections of our rehearsals and after several weeks you will have the opportunity to audition to become a member.
